Handmade in Romania - Professionally Set-Up - Ready to Play - Great Value - Student Violin

We invite you to visit the Gliga Violins Canada store and explore the craftsmanship of Gliga instruments, well known for their warm and rich sound. We have something for musicians of all levels, from beginners to intermediate and advanced players.

Our violins are handmade by skilled luthiers in Romania, using resonance spruce and flamed maple sourced from the Romanian mountains. Begin your violin journey with the Gliga Genial 1 model, tailored specifically for beginners. Designed to offer affordability without compromising on playability or sound quality, this model ensures a smooth entry into the world of violin playing.
Investing in the Gliga Genial 1 means starting your musical journey with an instrument that supports your progress and makes learning easier. As a beginner, having a violin that strikes the right balance between price, playability, and sound is crucial. Choose the Gliga Genial 1 and embark on your musical adventure with confidence.

The standard Genial 1 violin is set up with Romanian Steel strings and a standard tailpiece with 4 fine tuners. To change these settings, use the options at the top of the page. To select a case and a bow, go to the top left menu and choose these items independently. You can also use these links for a 4/4 violin case and a 4/4 violin bow. All items will be shipped in the same package at once.

The antique finish does not affect the sound of the instruments; it is just a matter of visual beauty. The instruments finished in an antique style have an "old" feel, are darker, and the colour is not uniform along the body, trying to replicate the looks of a violin that was subject to the passage of time.

The 4/4 Genial 1 Beginning Student Violins are a perfect choice for beginning violin students and beginning adult amateurs who want to learn how to play the violin as a hobby.

The combination of woods that is used in the manufacturing of this violin is as follows:

- Solid Carpathian Resonance Spruce (Latin name: Picea Abies (L) Karst) - used for the top plate of the instrument, the bass bar, the blocks, the corner blocks, the linings, and the sound post.

- Solid Carpathian Flamed Mountain Maple (Latin name: Acer Pseudoplatanus L.) - used for the back plate of the instruments, the neck, the scroll, the peg box, the ribs, the bridge, and sometimes the accessories.

- Ebony (Latin name: Diospyros sp.) is used for the accessories: the fingerboard, pegs, top nut, purfling, chinrest, tailpiece, saddle, and end pin.
